Good accommodations in the middle of Bergen. Rooms are fine, if not in some cases a bit small. Great restaurant and very inklusive breakfast. Good for kids and adults alike. Close proximity to hikes and sight seeing.

No A/C = No Thank You in summertime. Stay Length = 2 nights in May 2018, specifically in Rm 433. Would have been a 4 star review had it not been for the A/C situation, explained in detail below. We will NOT stay here again, and frankly do not recommend Bergen as a destination in general. PROS: - Great location - Restaurant deck on the water gives excellent view - Outstanding breakfast buffet - Courteous staff, professional guests - Beautiful decor and furnishings - Comfortable bed, clean linens and drapery - Good wifi CONS: - No A/C: Explanation below. This led to miserable 2 nights with interrupted sleep. - Shower: Lack of a shower door leaves everything on the bathroom counter wet. Clarion appealed to us because it’s an American brand so we figured it would cater to American preferences. We saw that come through with the design accents, music, and general atmosphere, so imagine our surprise that the rooms did not have A/C. We stayed in Rm 433 for 2 nights in May 2018. Outside, it was 75 degrees F, and with zero air flow, the room turned into a heat box. No fan in the room, and none was available when requested from the front desk. Large door window to the balcony but there was nowhere for the hot air to go, like no additional opening, and no crosswind. The staff claimed it was a heat wave. With the door open all night, it’s hard to sleep with the natural and electric lights. Also, it is difficult for marital intimacy when the windows are open and there is literally an office next door about 20 feet away with office workers still working on their computers. Final annoyance was that with no screen, those open windows were attracting flies into the room. Very third world. We found ourselves scrambling to figure out how to relax and find a spot with some wind or comfort instead of enjoying our room, which is basically what we had planned for this sleepy destination. The hotel lobby is air conditioned, but the staff kept the doors open. I don’t think the people here understand how A/C works. We were not able to get a solid night’s rest either night, and left Bergen feeling lethargic instead of well rested. See you never again, Bergen.

Flott hotell midt i sentrum. Beste beliggenhet i byen?
