::Can one write an honest review at 5:00 am in the morning after copious amounts of beer? I suppose it depends on what you remember, and how many functioning brain-cells you still have. Most importantly, however, it is about what you, personally, value about going out and about the impressions and experiences you are looking for. This place was recommended to me several times, but somehow, during my extended stay in Oslo, I never made it here before. Also, since it was my first visit, my review is only a 'first reaction' kind of review - as it is my firm belief, that usually, you have to visit a place several times to get an accurate feeling of it. Yet, some places instantly have there own distinct signature, an atmosphere that feels simultaneously familiar and unique. Queens Pub is definitely one of those places. The first thing that struck me was the casual and open-minded people I encountered here. From the very attentive and intuitive bar-tender/manager Manolis, through the very diverse cast of patrons of all ages, nations, and walks of life, to the fantastic array of spontaneous musicians that joined in on the jam, my night couldn't have been more perfect. There is nothing better than live music in an intimate setting. Once you settle in and start talking to your 'chance fellows', it starts to feel like your very own - 'at home' party. Personal, relaxed and yet charged with a curiosity of meeting new people for the first time. Of course, there is no doubt that alcohol may have clouded my judgement. But that is kind of my point... There is a big difference between a mindless numbness of a weekend binge you wish to forget fast, and a quality experience of music, friendly people and a comfortable buzz you know was worth the hangover... perhaps over again. Ultimately all experiences are subjective, but if you are looking for a place that is simultaneously familiar as a 'typical pub' and yet with an aspect of intimacy and inclusivity brought on by an age-old ritual of "the sharing of joy through music", come and participate.

::Awesome quiet cozy place when you want to have a discussion with good beer included. Occasionaly live piano music is really really interesting. Maybe not everybody like it but its really irreplaceable :D
