::We had an amazing stay at the Clarion Collection! It was in a great location that was walking distance to majority of the sights in town. Although it was a little more expensive, they have afternoon waffles, a dinner and breakfast buffets that are real good. So whatever you might spend outside of the hotel on food, you will get a great deal by staying here. There's also a beautiful view from the rooftop jacuzzi too. Cozy and comfortable. When in Tromsø, stay here.

::The outdoor jacuzzi is a highlight! We spent 2 nights there and enjoyed the central location, at short walking distance from everything around in the center, as well as the free afternoon waffles and coffee. Parking is available at an extra cost, daily rate being cheaper than the city parking daily rate.

::5 minutes walk from the quay to join the Hurtigrute boat to go north or south. Spacious clean rooms. Chilled atmosphere. Excellent breakfast, dinner slightly lacking but OK. Staff polite. Would recommend.

::Running expeditions in Northern Norway, I've been bringing my guests to this hotel for two years and average about 60 people each Nov to Jan. This does include my own additional extra nights between groups which I've also spent here. I used to love this hotel for its service, location and amenities although after this winter my opinion has sadly shifted. In recent visits small things have started indicating that the hotel is struggling, despite nearly always being full: - my guests have had to wait nearly an hour past the official check in time before they were given rooms as rooms were not ready. - empty tissue boxes in the bathroom of rooms has been the rule for this season. - poorly maintained rooms (broken desk lamps, dead wall clocks, incorrect chairs for desks, loose lights in bathroom, broken heating, no sink plugs etc). - not offered solutions or a change in room when these issues are raised, usually under the premise that they are always full. - the loyalty card system often misses nights which I've been unable to claim. By now I should have been a gold tier member but according to the Clarion system Im not even halfway. Another personal reason for not really wanting to visit the Clarion Aurora any longer is that despite the amount of guests I bring in a year (many who stay extra nights) and my own nights I've booked here, I have never been shown even the slightest courtesy. Other hotels will on occasion offer upgrades to returning clients but I'm repeatedly given the smallest rooms with the most issues. Ironically even my clients have been 'upgraded' to suites for no reason in a single visit which I've booked.
